"Penta's Magic Pen" Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how user information is handled in the Android app "Penta's Magic Pen" (the "App").

1. Information Collected by the Developer

The developer does not collect any personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, or location. No account registration is required.

Note that in connection with ad delivery, the advertising provider (Google) may obtain information such as the advertising ID. See "4. Advertising" for details.

2. Data Sent for AI Judging

The App includes a feature where an AI reads the solution you drew and judges whether it solves the stage's happening. When you use this feature, the following data is sent over the internet:

The finished image with your drawn solution added (a JPEG image including the stage background)
An image of only your hand-drawn strokes extracted onto a white background (JPEG)
In-game information such as the stage name and situation description
Drawing statistics such as stroke count and number of colors used (numbers only)

The data is relayed through a server managed by the developer (Microsoft Azure, Japan East region) and processed for judging by Google's generative AI service, the Gemini API, and the result is returned immediately. The data is processed temporarily for judging only; the developer does not store, accumulate, or reuse it for any other purpose.

All communication is encrypted with HTTPS (TLS).
Judging uses Google's Gemini API as a paid service. Data sent to the paid service is not used to train or improve Google's AI models. Data may be temporarily retained on Google's platform to monitor for policy violations. For details, see the Gemini API Additional Terms of Service.
The data sent is never sold or shared with third parties.

3. Data Stored on Your Device

The following data is stored only on your device and is never sent anywhere. It is deleted when you uninstall the App or clear the App's data.

Game progress (solved stages, etc.)
Images in your Solution Book
Temporarily saved drawings in progress
Your answer to the age question (birth year)
Your remaining pen magic (the drawing-use meter) and its recovery timestamps
Your Premium (ad removal) purchase status

4. Advertising

To keep the App free, the App shows ads served by Google AdMob.

Rewarded (video) ads: shown only when you choose to watch one by tapping the button to recharge the "pen magic" used for drawing.

The App has no automatically displayed ads (such as interstitial or banner ads). Every ad is shown only when you choose to watch it.

To deliver ads, Google may collect information such as the advertising ID, IP address, and device information, and use it for showing ads, fraud prevention, and (with consent) ad personalization. For details on how Google handles data, please see:

For users in regions where consent is legally required (such as the EEA and the UK), a consent screen is shown before ads are displayed.

5. In-App Purchases

The App offers a one-time in-app purchase ("Premium") that removes ads and lets you recharge the pen's magic without watching them, among other perks. Payments are processed by Google Play, and the developer never receives your payment details such as card numbers. The App keeps only your purchase status (whether the purchase has been made).

6. Children's Privacy

The App is designed to be enjoyed by the whole family, including children. On first launch, the App asks for your birth year (an age gate). If the user is determined to be a child, the following ad settings are applied:

Google is notified to apply child-directed treatment, and personalized ads are disabled (only contextual ads, not based on interests, are shown)
The maximum ad content rating is restricted to "G" (suitable for all audiences)

The birth year you enter is used only on your device for these ad settings and is never sent anywhere. The developer does not collect any personal information from children.

7. Third Parties and Analytics

Apart from ad delivery (Section 4), the App does not use any third-party SDKs such as analytics tools.
The developer never sells or shares user data with third parties.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This policy may be revised in response to legal changes or new features. Significant changes will be announced on this page.
